If you wish to use chemical resourses from the NPDepo Chemical Bank, please follow the procedures such as user registration according to the User's Guide. NPDepo is not in the business of selling compounds. Therefore, please note that you cannot provide specific compounds without following the proper procedures.
Basically 10mM-10uL each in DMSO solution, and we may refuse to supply more than that amount or in powder form. As an alternative, we can refer you to a distributor from whom you can purchase the compounds.
The NPDepo Chemical Bank provides Authentic and Pilot Library for a fee. The fee includes the cost of consumables, labor, and shipping costs associated with compound storage, management, and handling, and does not include the cost of purchasing the compounds. Please note that NPDepo's paid services are the actual costs of commissions, not the sale of compounds.
Below is a list of the fees (including tax) for the paid services.
Authentic Library | 23,713 yen |
Pilot Library | 51,785 yen |
Packing and shipping | 495 yen + shipping |
The same fee will be charged again if another set is provided for evaluation purposes.
If you conclude a joint research agreement, you will not be charged the handling fee, but you will be asked to pay only the shipping cost on delivery.
NPDepo will provide Authentic and Pilot Library for a fee by entering into a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). The procedure is as follows
NPDepo will prepare and send a draft MTA and a quotation/invoice/delivery note based on the information submitted in the user registration. At this stage, the MTA is still a "draft" and the official documents will be sent at a later date.
Please note that during this process, you may receive requests from the relevant departments to make changes to the MTA, but since the draft MTA has already been approved by the RIKEN Director, we may not be able to comply with such requests.
Based on the confirmed documents, RIKEN Research Support Division will issue and send two copies of the official MTA and quotation, which should be settled by each department involved in the MTA procedure. Once payment has been made, please return the two stamped copies of the MTA to RIKEN. Please note that it may take some time to issue the MTA and quotation.
After stamping the two returned MTAs, one MTA, a delivery note, and a quotation will be sent together with the compound library for your receipt.
When sending compounds to the NPDepo Chemical Bank, we will proceed in the following order: Authentic Library, Pilot Library, and similar compounds, according to the User's Guide. The provision of similar compounds is subject to the conclusion of a collaborative research agreement with the consent of both parties. We will explain the procedure here.
When you make an external presentation using a compound provided by NPDepo, please mention NPDepo as the compound provider in the Acknowledgement and provide us with an abstract in advance.
Based on the results of the evaluation of the Authentic and Pilot Library, the Chemical Resource Steering Committee will discuss how to proceed with the evaluation. If you wish to use analogous compounds as part of a joint research project, both parties will formulate a joint research plan [draft] that includes research topics, research assignments, research period, and handling of results, and submit it to the department in charge of the contract. (*Negotiation of a contract cannot be done directly between the parties in charge of the research.)
In collaborative research, the NPDepo Chemical Bank is in charge of providing compounds for initial evaluation, and users evaluate the compounds using their own techniques. The results of the evaluation are shared at the Chemical Resource Steering Committee, and hit compounds are reviewed by both parties.
Two to three months prior to the end of the contract period, we will confirm whether or not the joint research agreement should be continued.
Please choose from the following options and complete the necessary procedures.
In either case, we will send you a template from here, so please let us know.
We request that procedures for changes or new procedures for joint research proposals be completed at least one month prior to the end date.
